Portland General Electric Co. has adopted the following policy governing the use of information gathered at this PGE Web site, GreenPowerOregon.com.

What personal information do we collect?

As a visitor to this Web site, your identity will remain anonymous unless you register to access certain offers or services, such as the “Benefits” section exclusively available to PGE renewable power customers. In such cases, we use the information you provide only to verify you as a PGE renewable power customer and to send you infrequent information or updates about renewable power.

Communications from the site

PGE renewable power customers who register on GreenPowerOregon.com can request to have our quarterly newsletter, Renewable Report, sent to them via e-mail instead of receiving the default printed version. You may unsubscribe to the e-mail newsletter using an unsubscribe link in the newsletter.

How can you update the online services information you have provided?

If you want to change the e-mail address that you use for your username on GreenPowerOregon.com, e-mail renewables@pgn.com, notifying us of the old and new e-mail address, along with your PGE account number, name and address.

Release of information

Occasionally, we may hire third parties to act on our behalf for activities such as market research surveys, billing, technical support or contest entry processing. These parties will not be permitted to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing their specific services, and they are not permitted to disclose, transfer or sell personally identifiable information.

Other than the ways mentioned above, we will not release personally identifiable information to third parties without permission from the customer, unless we are required to do so by law or we in good faith believe such action is necessary to (1) comply with the law or legal process, (2) protect and defend our rights or property, (3) protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our Web site or (4) protect the personal safety or property of our customers or the public.

Notification of changes

The privacy policy was effective as of Jan. 10, 2003, and last updated April 6, 2009. Due to the rapidly evolving technologies on the Internet, this policy may be updated. All revisions will be posted to this site.
