Renewable Program Growth
In 2001, PGE had 4,900 customers enrolled in our renewable power program. Today, more than 70,000 of you are part of our burgeoning green community.
This growth helped PGE's residential renewable power program earn the nation’s number #1 sales ranking in 2008 for the fourth year in a row, #2 when our renewable business customers are included. The rankings are compiled by the U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
More than 148,000 cars off the road
In 2008 alone, by choosing renewable power, PGE customers avoided releasing more than 527 million pounds of CO
2 into the air, which has the same environmental impact as taking more than 42,000 cars off the road.
Since 2001, PGE customers have kept more than 1.5 billion pounds of CO
2 from entering the atmosphere, the equivalent of taking more than 136,000 cars off the road.
